Group payments
When a head office pays for all its branches with one transfer or cheque, record it as one group payment. Fiscal splits it into a payment for each customer in the group.
Open Sales›Group Payments. The customers must be in the same client group.
Receive a group payment
- Click New and choose the Client Group. The unpaid invoices of all its customers are listed, grouped by customer.
- Enter the Payment Date, the Amount Received, the Deposit To account, and the cheque or transfer details under Instrument & Charges.
- Allocate the amount: let Fiscal apply it oldest-first, click Pay all for a customer, or type the Pay Amount per invoice. Use Filter customer... to find one customer in a long list.
- Write off small differences as on a customer payment.
- If more was received than you allocate, choose where the excess goes: as income (Record excess as income), or as credit for one customer under Credit excess to (by default, the first customer on the payment).
- Save.
What you see afterwards
- The group payment, with the amount received, applied and unapplied, in Sales›Group Payments.
- A payment for each customer in Sales›Customer Payments, marked with the group payment's number. Click that number to go back to the group payment.
To change or cancel it, use Edit or Cancel Payment on the group payment itself. The customers' payments follow.
