How sales work

A sale in Fiscal can be a single invoice, or a chain of documents from the first quotation to the payment. Use only the steps your business needs.

Common ways to work

  • Shop or counter sale: one cash invoice. The goods leave stock and the money is recorded at once.
  • Trade customer on credit: a credit invoice, then a customer payment when they pay.
  • Quotation first: estimate → convert to an invoice when the customer accepts.
  • Orders delivered in parts: sales order → one or more delivery notes → invoice the delivered goods.

Converting instead of retyping

Each document can be converted into the next one: an estimate into a sales order or an invoice, a sales order into a delivery note or an invoice, a delivery note into an invoice. The customer and the lines are copied, and you can change them before saving. Fiscal keeps track of what has been delivered and invoiced, so the same goods can't be delivered or invoiced twice.
